I had the same problem recently and the solution was so simple and effective!
Rub the "inside" of a banana peel (it may take more than one banana if badly soiled) on the stained areas gently. The natural chemical in the peel removes them!
Wipe with a damp (not wet) cotton cloth - just plain water -when all the stains are gone and leave to dry in indirect sunlight for a few hours.
Works well with leather shoes, too.

I have just washed some suede trainers at 40 degrees on a short spin, and hung them to dry. Sadly it has not worked (they have oil spatters on them). I don't really wanna ruin them with cleaning chemicals, so I am resigning to the fact that I am having to buy some more - I suggest you do too.

This actually works on wax/fat/oil on carpets. Get a paper towel and place over the stain. Then iron over the paper and the grease will absorb into the paper towel. Give it a try.

Try rubbing corn starch or dry talc powder into the stain with a soft brush then brush it off you may need to try several times if there is a lot of oil, remember if you wet sued it tends to stain.

Washing machine at 40 degrees
Short spin
Do not tumble dry, place in a well aired space and let them dry naturally before chucking them in the bin.
