oh, come on now. don't play dumb...you know exactly what made his voice so good. the same thing that made his health so bad. he swallowed the ickiest of the stickiest. he coated his throat daily. I bet that stuff is better for your voice than lemon juice and honey! if he would have survived he would be singing like an angel by now. but instead he's singing with the angels! not to mention the fact that he stretched his throat out so far. he had almost unrestricted air-flow over those vocal chords due to years and years of stretching that throat beyond it's normal limits. i betcha alot of guys with those habits sing good. just listen to little richard and tom petty...if my theory is correct, i bet this list of celebrities have beautiful voices, too. richard simmons, johnny depp, steve irwin, and screech from saved by the bell. not to mention john stamos.

Gay or not, no matter. Freddie Mercury was a once in a lifetime type person whose voice was made more powerful by his passion. He was the ultimate front man, and there will never be another like him. RIP Freddie.

no doubt Freddie has an uncommonly brilliant voice. but I rather think it is the Queen music itself that brought out the best from Freddie. Try asking him (with due respect) to sing hip hop i think he be in big trouble.

I think the more fitting question and answer for this situation is
"What made Queen so damn great?"
And the answer: "Freddie Mercury's voice" (not his sexual orientation)

whether he's gay or not is not the issue. Freddie's good voice came from lots of hard work and passion.

Well, he had a girlfriend at one time and even wrote one of his to her, but I forget which one it was. I seen his biography on A&E and his boyfriend at the time he died said Freddie said his old girlfriend was the love of his life. He was a one of a kind.
