Did anyone watch the news last night. It was about the bears in Canada being hunted for their fur. The fur is supplied to Buckingham Palace to make the Guard's hats!
I am appalled that this is still allowed to continue. A spokes person for the queen say that many alternatives have been tried but nothing could beat the real thing!
What can we do to stop this evil trade in fur (The bears are starting to be hunted for fun!!! FUN?)
Something must be done but what?

Wait and see. If I know anything about the British public there will be plackards and demos outside of BP. Then the riot police will come along and stop this freedom of speech.
I am also appalled and shame on the powers to be not to find an alternative...surely synthetic fur will serve the purpose just as effectively. Maybe this is a good opportunity to bring modernity to the fore and design a new uniform altogether for the Guards (Nothing Americanised though). I am sure the soldiers on duty would appreciate it.
Bears being slaughtered for the sake of a uniform. I thought those days were long gone. And we consider our selves to be a civilised country...that is a joke.

We should all contact the M.O.D protesting at the waste of taxpayers money. There are good alternatives out there which are a lot cheaper and then our soldiers elsewhere could be given the correct equipment which could save their lives. Also get a celeb involved in a campaign against this atrocity. No good writing to Her Majesty as we all know how the royal family love hunting, shooting and fishing

I watched this and thought it was disguisting.
Just because the bears are being hunted for the queens purpose they seem to think it is acceptable but it most definately is not!

I watched it and it really upset me. How dare they kill poor innocent animals just because their fur looks good as a hat. Did you see the look on their poor little faces. I,m really annoyed i agree something has to be done.
