My first suggestion is to set up a legitimate business in your county. With your Federal Tax ID, you are telling suppliers that you are serious about selling and not just "some guy selling on Ebay," of which there are thousands. It only costs around $80 to get set up in a business and all your fees for doing business are tax deductible which will pay for that $80 in no time. You will have to pay income taxes but will also get tax credits and you can take losses on taxes for two years if need be as long as you show intent to make profit. Why pay Ebay fees, internet fees, business cards, mailing supplies and all that out of your pocket when you can get the business to pay for them??? Get a good accountant (again, deductible) who can help you write off your computer and housing expenses for business purposes. With that accomplished, suppliers will be more willing to work with you and you will make more money. Don't wait for your ship to come in ... swim out to meet it!!! Today is a great day to get started so pick up the phone.

Go travel to foreign countries, the smaller the better, but it'd be good if you speak whatever language they do in order to do business. Find unique items then look for a reliable supplier. Best ideas are the ones where you supply a more Westernized design for custom manufacturing. Need to negotiate to get a good price.
