If anything the oranges would make you more regular, so it's probably something else in your diet.

Oranges have fiber and are good for constipation as well as most fruits. Do not eat the peels. Prunes (dried plums) have a lot fiber as well. Make sure you're drinking enough water during the day too!

All fruits with acidic tastes are reasons for constipation for many. Change the fruit intake from Oranges to apple or banana. No constipation at all if you take a banana at night before going to sleep.

Orange squash or mashed oranges got fiber content than just orange juice.Try that.Mere orange juice on empty stomach may lead to constipation. But vitamin C should help bowel movement I think. Or just eat orange fruit as it is, by chewing if you are so keen to eat them alone. But too much of anything is bad, I suppose.

Fruits are fruitful and hence do not cause any complications provided you are not already suffering form some related ailment where they might trigger you off such as unsatisfactory bowel movements and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Some fruits may produce gases and belching if taken on empty stomach. The way to eat fruits is having them after meal. Add more fibre to your food to overcome constipation and to digest fibre one must drink enough water. Reduce the intake of oranges to half and watch your bowel movements. Take care and be in good health.
