There are several legitimate companies called Omega International operating in the UK. There is a delivery company, a watch company and a travel company for example. However they are mostly owned by large international companies, so it's not clear to me why they would be offering shares.

If you are unsure whether Omega are legitimate the best thing to do is check the records at Companies House. All legitimate companies will be registered there and you will be able to check their trading background and accounts.

Assuming the company checks out the next step is to find out what they're offering you and why. Companies normally issue restricted stock when they list their shares - it goes to senior executives and insiders who are forbidden from selling for a period of time. If they're offering you stock there should be a reason behind it - and one they're prepared to put in writing.

At a minimum they should be making the offer in writing setting out the terms and conditions. If they want you to buy stock at a discounted price you need to understand the restrictions. It's not a free lunch, the FSA monitor sales of restricted stock and if you sell in a closed period you will be prosecuted.

Good luck!

Omega Are a legitimate parcel courier company. I would check first to make sure it is the company and not just somebody else trying to scam you

If you got that offer in an unsolicited email, forget about it.

You seem to be uninformed about your potential investments (I could be wrong, no offense intended). You should probably get a reputable broker. It'll cost you some, but it'll be worth the security.

www.companieshouse.gov.uk do a search on the company name (if they are selling shares in the company they will Definately be registered !).
And go from there.
Make sure its verified by the firms selected registrar as well........... could be a genuine company but an eleborate scam by a third party.

Dont believe what you are told...... only believe what you KNOW.
