Is this a self defrosting ref. ? Most have electric defrost systems ==some others have what is known as "hot gas "defrost. This is where a control valve will open or close to direct the hot freon gas in one direction to cool or another way to defrost the evaporator. If this valve is leaking a little hot freon into the cold evaporator when it should"nt --then you will get the gurgling sound. Pull the ref. out from the wall--take the back cover off if there is one. Look around on the copper lines--you will see a valve with copper lines going to it and a coil on top with a couple wires connected. Unplug the power line--take this coil off the valve and clean both. Take a screwdriver and tap the valve a couple times--reinstall coil. Turn the ref. back on and see if this helped. Next time include ref. model, etc. This might be the problem. Could also be the compression valve inside your compressor is allowing a backflow of freon to enter--this is not good --your compressor is wearing out if this is so. Hope for the hot gas defrost valve is just "sticking" and banging it frees it up--Good Luck.

Under your fridge there is a drip pan that collects water from the condenser. Once the water is in the drip pan it simply evaporates off and the water is gone. Sometimes the water doesn't evaporate or there is extra water and you can hear the water dripping and gurgling in the drip pan. Could this be the problem? Next time you hear the sound put your head down toward the bottom of the fridge and see if you can hear where the water is coming from. If it's coming from the bottom it's just the drip pan.

First:check the rubber mounting at the base of the compressor. When the compressor operate,it vibrate ,thus the rubber mounting absorb the shock.Probably the mounting are damaged or the fridge is not well leveled.
The compressor are very hardy equipment and not easily damaged under normal use.

Sounds to me like your compressor is going, and it's not really worth fixing it unless it's a brand new fridge, better off going out and buying a new one.

sounds like the compressor or motor, which is deadly for the fridge, get a new one or check out a used dealer they have nice ones for under 200

I don't know about "gurgling." I believe a refrigerator needs to be level.
