Recently I went to sign my webhosting site up on yahoo advertising (The one thats like google adwords) .. well, anyhow, when you look up keywords, you can find out what other companies are bidding for the same keywords. So, I went and selected Webhosting for my main keyword.

When I looked at the other companies that were bidding on the same keyword, guess what, yahoo webhosting was #3 with a bid of $2.02 per click.

PLEASE! Explain to me how this is at ALL fair? It seems to me that since yahoo OWNS the advertising, they should not be allowed to bid up the value of their keywords like that. Only 2 companies had outbid yahoo. So, what if they decide to pay themselves, oh, 2.50 per click? Would those other companies up their bids as well to compete with yahoo?

This seems to me to be a VERY unfair and unethical way of doing business, as they can put whatever they want in as their bid ammount, after all, they ARE paying themselves. Total scam if you ask me! Please answer!

I have tried to contact yahoo regarding this, I gave them my opinion on it and asked for an explanation, but have never heard back from them regarding this.

And yes, I like your answer, it indeed looks like a duck to me. I think someone outside yahoo should seriously look into this, it could be considered price fixing imho.
