Its is a very common thing to do what you are doing. I would consider it an anxiety issue and try to refocus on something else. You may want to focus the energy that it would take to pick at your skin at something else...like singing to the radio or something less self harmful. I think the momentum of you leaving away at school should help a bit to refocus your attention elsewhere. In the long run, one should look at self-harm for many different reasons. I think in your case, it sounds like anxiety. In which case you need to cue yourself when you are doing the self harm and redirect your behavior to do something else. like popping bubbles or something. The reason why I consider this self-harm is that you are describing that it is effecting your personal/social life. So, try and see what is happening at the time you are picking, try to redirect those feelings, and use anit-acne products in the timeframe to help clear up your skin. If you have open spots, you may even want to use a salve/ointment (like neosporin) to help the healing.

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

Well, you are just going to have to STOP touching your face all together! Put yourself in the mind frame of why you think you look so bad.
To ge them to clear up, noxema cleansing pads work pretty good for mild acne, then make it a point to change your pillow case 2-3 times a week. They tend to hold oil from your scalp that can absorb into your face. Also, a cold rag is good to help with any swelling or redness.

Toothpaste with baking soda. Apply a light coating to the affected area before bed. Your pimples will dry up in a few days.

Wash your face with warm water before you go to sleep and apply olive oil during nights.Over a periods of time it will go off.But not soon as it takes time for olive to work out on your skin.Avoid the habit of pinching pimples.

Wash you face with recommended creams and apply some good acne creams avaliable at the local stores. Your pimples may become septic if your fingernails a dirty. Scratching with your fingernails is bad habbit which you have to give up.

try washing your face with Clean and Clear exfoliating face wash and using Clean and Clear moisturizer afterwards everyday. Stay away from greasy foods (grease will clog your pores) and junk food. if you drink more water and eat right and do all of the above then your acne should start clearing up and eventually disappear.

I have the same problem...but I don't get pimples that often...but when I do...they irritate me so much that they are there..I just have to go messin with it...Honestly, I don't think we will ever stop. The only way we will is if we get rid of the problem itself...THE PIMPLE!!! Cause if it is out of sight...out of mind...
