I live in Australia. My former Team was Italy. I can't believe we have a good enough team to be in the world cup. GO SOCCEROOS.

I thought they did exceptionally well. They should have beaten Italy. It was never a penalty. The Italian fell over a player already on the floor and as all Italians do the player tried to win an Oscar or Gold Medal at diving. Overall Australia should be very proud of how their team performed. I only wish England had shown the same commitment, passiion and pride.

Amazingly well in fact. This was Australia's 2nd only World Cup birth and even reached the 2nd round. The best player would probably be Tim Cahill who scored Australia's first ever World Cup Final goal - then went on to score Australia's 2nd goal minutes later in the Australia v Japan game. They eventually lost to Italy - the winners of the world cup in the final seconds of the match due to an extremely poor referee error.

Seeing Australia this year was like seeing Korea back in 2002 WC. Hiddink is one of the best top coaches in the world. The Socceroos defeated Japan 3-1. They could've defeated Italy, but the last minute penalty kick really sucks.

I thought they did really well and would have gone further without bad calls, which most teams got.
Am not an expert on soccer, my code is league.
Having a team in the World Cup has definitely increased interest in the game here.
Am sure others can give you information on the players.
Harry Kewell is a bit of a cutie, lol.

wow!really outstanding!i'm started to like australia at the last wcup but to 'lose' over italy is a thing that very painful..that was bcoz they 'lost' on penalty that looks not approved.since that i hate italy but damn they won it..italy good at diving, and a gud liar too.best players i think tim cahill..he plays for everton...and u should remember his name as he shooted the first goal for australia in world cup, besides he also won man of the match after d game vs japan.and lastly he's that cute too..:) i'm sorry but when i'm watch football,i always love to see players that are gud looking..it such a release of a tension game sometimes when u see their face:)

I think Australia have emerged as a great team...even I don't recognise all their players properly but I really liked their performance.

I also think Australia perform very well and were slightly under-rated. I have no favorite player, coz they played as a team.

I also don't know much about them but, they played well. Mark Viduka, I think it's him the captain, I'm not sure, he played well. During the game against Italy, he was very active and it was a great game, they are good players.

They did pretty good, considering that they follow the English game: run a lot and center the ball, hopping somebody will connect. And they kick every thing that moves.
