They are made in Italy.
Iran's subs are some of the best diesel subs in the world, but they dont even have 10 of them, and they would be no match for american equipment meant to detect russian subs.
Im not terribly worried about them defeating the US navy anytime soon, but I am worried that they may go on a rampage against cruise ships.
