Ok - for several years i've had what i assume is bruising on my valva? It presents as a stretched, discolored flap of skin. It's not ichy or painful and never bothered me before but i'm about to become sexually active and want to make sure it's not a big deal. I have always assumed it was simply bruising from riding horses. Yes?

it could be bruising if you ride horses regularly but if you are going to be sexually active you need a gynecological check-up first. Talk to the doc about birth control, too.

Probably just different coloration of your labia majora or minora. If it's not painful, it's probably not the result of bruising. I'm not sure about the effects a saddle might have on that area of your body. I guess it could cause stretching. But again, if it's not painful, I don't see a need to worry about it. Bruising is usually sensitive to the touch. If you are not sore, you are probably not bruised. Forget it, and just enjoy yourself.

PS: If you haven't had sex in a long time. Think lubrication. Make sure you have a lubrication product with you just in case your body doesn't naturally provide enough to make sex comfortable for both you and your man. Few men think of such things or plan for it. You need to be smart and think for them.
