Yes the system administrator can see what you are doing and can see what you have done.

All web pages are probably buffered on the main server. So all pages ever accessed by any user will be stored as temporary internet files there. The administrator can scan them and pick out restricted access sites, porn, that kind of thing.

Also, deleting stuff off your PC does nothing as the pages all came via the server and are on the server (with your name attached) and you can't delete those.

Your goose is well and truely cooked.

Multi-user monitoring (office/corporate LAN and remote WAN):

Depending on how big you company is and how serious they are about protecting themselves and making sure their employees aren't wasting a lot of time on the Internet when they should be working, they could be monitoring your activities and they are withing their rights.

At the last place where I worked, we had over 500 people at just the one site and we monitored not only their computers, but also their phones for the numbers dialed and the amount of time they were on the call. We could also tell how long they were on incoming calls.

I can't give names, but people were let go because of violation of policy concerning their computers and Internet usage, and people were also let go for abusing their telephones (too many personal calls).

One of the things companies have to protect themselves against is their employees downloading porn. One reason is it does not belong in the work place, but if it is seen by the opposite sex or even the same sex it could be considered to be sexual harassment. But, the thing they have to worry about the most is someone downloading child porn onto their one of their systems.

your internet usage is monitored by most companies.
Did you have an internet usage policy in your company manual?
Every site and page you visit is recorded in a database and usage reports can be generated for each employee.
This can be used to reprimand you and fire you if they want. Don't go to any websites you are not supposed to.
You can go to an anonymous proxy site and then surf through it. But the fact that you are visiting an anonymous proxy site might make them talk to you even though they can't tell where your are surfing using it. They will only see the anonymous proxy site. Many people get fired for abusing the internet at work. Decide if it is something you want to risk your job for before you do it.

Its simply not possible. They can find out that you are accessing the restricted sites if they run a scan.

A simple hint is that after completing your task and before closing the browser, delete history, temporary internet files and cookies.

To do so,if you are using internet explorer,go to Tools->Internet Options->Clear History.

Also click Delete files and Cookies. You should be safe!

If your office network is anything like the one where I worked until recently, your employers would be able to track your every move on line. That does not mean to say they will because of the massive amount of information collected by the system but it is as well to be aware that big brother may be watching.

Yes, the administrator can see what sites you're viewing.

Sorry to say this, but your viewing restricted sites must be against company policy, otherwise they wouldn't restrict them. The company, no doubt, has more to lose than you do if you are viewing illegal sites.

Yes the sys ad can see whatever you are doing. You should not be accessing anything at work that you would'nt want your granma to see. Why don't you do this at home. Maybe you'll get more work done, and get a raise, if you stop playing online instead of working.

The system admin can definitely see what you are accessing, if he has the right software on his system.
