I think you need to think a little more about this - a mentor is someone who will help guide you in your choices. Not someone who will tell you exactly what to do with your life.

For example if you are studying golf course management it is unlikely that a succesful career in internation finance beckons (it is possible, just very, very unlikely). And so on...

What you need to do at a minimum to attract a useful mentor is to take stock of what you are, what you like, where you are, where you want to be, and so on. Once you have a good picture of yourself then someone with HR/Training experience might (and I only say might, the previous advice about being careful who you put your trust in, is good advice) be able to help you find direction. But then again so might your University's careers advisor or a recruitment consultant.

Good luck.

If you are at an English University then there is normally a mentoring service provided through your uni. I know the University of Portsmouth have such a service so I would expect other universities to do the same. Contact the careers service at your uni who will be able to give you an honest service and advice.

Good luck with finals
