I'll tell you my side. I say we are too stuborn to see whats ahead of us. We need to stop going to war and get on track. I know that we are a business world and that is why we have pharmacies. Pharmacies as you may know sell drugs for a price to help. The next stage in evolution would (in my thoughts) is to go backwards. If pharmacy were experimenting with a unknown or new drug and didn't know what the LONG TERM side effects were, the drug could alter our DNA and cause us to die off. Are we too scared to evolve? Do we need a lot more knowlede? Have we reached our limit in this atmosphere, do we need to travel to other planets to test our "living arrangemes"? Just something to think about.

Answer depends on which group you place yourself.

Religious: To follow the way or laws so as to reach the reward.

'Science': Mutations are occurring continuously. Outside forces from cosmic rays down to the unexpected side effects of 'progress'.

We may well have had our chances AND are now gathering speed on the down slope...

For long time survival of a human race that we would recognize I believe it was imperaitve to venture permanently into outer space.

Humans continually 'waste' their time and resources...

ALL 'advances' have occurred as a result of wars... including the shabby state of the third planets 'space' program. Actually they're a lot like planes they are just flying higher!

No drug now sold, or likely to be sold, will influence DNA to cause H. sapiens to die off: drugs simply do not work that way. Any proposed drug that DID work that way would get a great deal of scrutiny before hitting the market. Human evolution has probably reached a stopping point, as there is no longer a threat to survival arising from physical limitations, stupidity, or any of the other defects that have gotten weeded out of the human genome over the millennia. And, with the genetic mixing inherent in modern travel, the isolated populations that permitted characteristics such as racial differences no longer exist.

MANY things can alter your DNA. Usually it is the condition provided by nature. For example, there is a theory that girrafes were short necked animals. As short trees die out and tall trees come to life, the girrafes evolves into tall necked animals, because they would have to get leaves from the tree. Supposedly, evolution happens in a very long time, and it's irreversible.

There are all kinds of totally *natural* things that alter your DNA. If there weren't, we'd all still be single-cell organisms floating around in the ocean.

the way to evolve is to cull those unfit to survive. this cannot be done at our technologial level. the weak survive, thrive, and produce weak offspring. the way to combat this disturbing trend is to make everyone go out and live for a year in the wild. those that survive are allowed to breed. those that do not survive do not breed, because they are dead. unfortunately, many people see this as cruel and unusual.

Well i am against your idea of no wars. Large wars bring us advances in technology and nationalism. For the future our bodies will continue to evolve slowly, but we will increase our abilities by implanting technology into us. technology is the future to our evolution
