There are 8 bits in a byte. 1 Kilobyte has 1024 bytes. 1 Megabyte has 1024 Kilobytes. 1 Gigabyte has 1024 Megabytes. So this is all just units of measurements when you are referring to computer memory

Byte is used to indicate the storage capacity of memory cards, computers etc. 1 Byte is combined by 8 bits. Larger amounts of bytes are indicated as Kilobytes, Megabytes and Gigabytes. The above terms may be misleading since the exact amount of bytes is not exactly what the terms are indicating. The correct conversions are listed below:
1 Byte = 8 bits
1 Kilobyte (KB) = 1 024 Bytes
1 Megabyte (MB) = 1 048 576 Bytes
1 Gigabyte (GB) = 1 073 741 824 Bytes

Look
1 byte = 8 bit
1 kilobyte = 2^10 byte = 1024 byte = (1024*8) bit =8192 bit
1 megabyte = 2^10 kilobyte = 1024 kilobyte = (1024*2^10) byte = 1048576 byte = (1048576*8) bit = 8388608 bit
1 gigabyte = 2^10 megabyte = 1024 megabyte = (1024*2^10) kilobyte = 1048576 kilobyte = (1048576*2^10) byte = 1073741824 byte = (1073741824*8) bit = 8589934592 bit
