There are a number of rituals that are quite unique to Africa. The circumcision schools done by the Zulu and Siswati in Southern Africa are quite unique. Young boys from the age of 9-21 are taken to the bush were by they get circumcised and helped with the change over to adulthood. Many young boys die at these schools due to harsh conditions or septicemia setting in. The Shanganes also mark there children with small cuts on the face. Xhosa people also promote stick fights between young males. These fights are brutal and many kids carry the scares of these initiation schools. Young virgins are inspected by old Lady's in Swaziland to see if there virginity is still intake. Most rituals involving young children are very cruel. In Tanzania young girls are also circumcised by the old women-again very brutal. Some African tribes allow the fathers to take the virginity of there daughters be for another male can. And then many of the Southern tribes believe that sex with a baby will prevent AIDS.
