Now if you mean art film like directly having to do with art, Pollock is a great film which is basically a narrative of the life of the painter Jackson Pollock. Now if you mean art house movie thats a different answer altogether.

it is divided into 2 parts(1 and 2).
the director used., animation.,flashback., soft and harsh lighting., and even the arts of fighting in order for it to be interesting
