Hey: There's a show on cable. It's with Clinton and whats-her-name, anyway, they are Fashion Experts. You know, what goes with what, and how to put outfits together. They have a street-lamp pole that has a sign----- no white after labor day. Too bad I don't have cable T.V., but I used to watch that show. Very good show! Good Luck!

This is a very old "rule" of fashion, but it's not really traceable to a single source. It may have been a marketing scheme by clothing merchants, shaming women into buying new garments every season by implying that if you were still wearing white your clothes were out of style. No matter its origin, it is an arbitrary rule that no longer applies.

I have no idea why they say that. What would happen if you want your wedding after labor day and wants to wear white dress? Hmm.. things to make you wonder.
