Try a skunk it is very useful for masking unwanted odours.

wash with a paste of baking soda and water. this is the most effective unscented nonabrasive scouring deodorizer. washing with bleach or plain white vinegar will also work but will leave their own smell for awhile. rinse well with warm water and dry thoroughly. stuff the fridge with loosely crinkled newpaper to absorb any remaining odors and prevent new ones. leave the newspaper in it until you sell it or decide to use it again.

we did this when our refrigerator quit working one hot long weekend while we were camping and a lot of food spoiled. it smelled like something died in there. we tried everything we could think of and this was the only thing that removed the smell completely.

When I used to sell fridges we always told the customer to wipe the inside with a solution of water and vinegar

Just put a pot of bicarb or baking soda into the fridge while its on and leave it for a day of two, the powder should absorb the smell.

clean it with normal cleaning solutions, then leave a small container of vanilla essence in the fridge overnight with the door closed, the essence will absorb the smell and somehow evaporate.
