I have one on my back that i considered for ..5 years? before I got it. Now I want another, and I have an idea for it, and I'd like my dad to draw it. He keeps dragging his feet though, so any suggestions on what to say to get him to get drawing?

Try to explain to him why you choose that for your next tattoo. If it means something to you explain that too him so he don't think you are just rushing to get a tattoo that you will get anything.
First you say " how to convince your dad to let you get another tattoo." then you say " you want him to draw it". Is your dad the one doing the tattoo or just going to draw up the image you want for your tattoo?
If he haves already agreed to letting you have another tattoo and he is just going to draw it for you NOT do the actual tattoo then you could say something like " Dad I would like to get my tattoo around _______ (insert a date) do you think you will have that drawled up for me soon?"

Show your dad a drawing of what someone else came up with (a fake drawing), and then act like you're going to get that done. Maybe he will perk up and say that he can do one that is better. If that doesn't work, tell him how much it would mean to you and that you love him. Good luck!

well it depends on why hes dragging his feet. you have to pinpoint the problem before you can resolve it. artist can be that way when they need to be "in the mood" or inspired to draw, what can help with that is doing your part, think about what you want him to draw exactly, then get some refrence picture for him to get ideas from, like if its a tiger, pull up like 4-5 pictures of tigers for him and if you need to write down the details you want to make. then clear a nice area for him to draw at with a blank paper an sharp pencil with the refrence pictures around it. then you tell him you have it ready an cook him a dinner.
now if he just doesnt want you getting anouther tattooyour going to have to talk that out with him an find out his concerns are with it, maybe he was ok with the other one because it was on your back out of sight, an if your talking to him now about your arm or something he doesnt like that idea, so your going to have to talk that out yourself
