I Was watching Lifetime with a friend and have seen it over the years with my mother & aunts ,and my question is this.
how many shows or movies can you make staring Judith Light
featuring some guy in a wife beater ,well beating his wife.
Of all the channels on cable that touch on race, sex & violence .
Life time is the most drastic when it comes to stereo typeing & and generalizing.
The father is always an alcohoolic ,wife beating childmolester with a gambling problem who cheats on his wife ,kicks the dog, works to much and doesnt appretiate his wife .Oh but fear not! In the end if she doesnt kill him there's always that handsome,way to sensative submisive knight in shineing armor. How can you dedicate a whole channel based on the same format and it be entertaining?The predictabilty is so obvious..

I am female and I totally agree with you that it is quite possibly the worst channel on cable. Not only do all of the movies have very similar plotlines, but the acting is absolutely horrid as well. I was flipping through the other day and they were showing the life story of Fantasia Barrino...starring Fantasia Barrino. I watched about 5 minutes and had to change it, it was so horrible.
I also hate soap operas. Ughhhh.

LOL! I found LOTS more typos than alcoholic...tee hee! But I digress....anyways, I HATE those shows and I am a woman. Especially the ones starring Judith Light. So I don't watch them.

Lol, you must watch lifetime alot. Good to know a man does as well. So are you saying you don't like it?? Lifetime is about DRAMA & MURDER. It's like a person that is writing a book but instead of putting it on paper it goes into a movie for us all to watch!!!

haha but hey, all girls, well not all, but most women and girls dream of getting saved by their knights. It only happens to lucky women in real life, the rest just watch them on lifetime. No big deal. Just a dream.

guess it's like a lot of porn! same old stuff, different actors!
If they have to churn out so much stuff cheap and quickly, the plotlines get repeat or just tweaked here and there.
With other channels catering for sex violence, rock and roll etc, guess it doesn't hurt to have one for women who like that "some will rescue me" plot line!

funny.. you would think a channel for women would feature less woman beating and downtrodden women.. go figure!
personally most of their movies are too over the top (bad acting) and sad or sappy for me. i try to watch as little of it as possible.

i understand what you are saying and i have noticed the stories are very simular but its nice to know its one channel where theres always a movie on and you can tune in during the middle and know whats happening

they made this channel this way, because WOMEN like these kinds of shows. My girlfriend is HOOKED on Lifetime. I agree with you.
