Many argue that the speech injected politics during a solemn
commemoration. Did it?

Looking at it from a completely unbiased standpoint I would say it was rather good. You are able to tell that he has had some training addressing our citizens in his speeches. They want to make Iraq a democratic nation in hopes that the rest of the citizens from the other countries in the Middle East will demand the same. This takes the power out of the hands of single, lunatic dictators.l America is trying to change the Middle East. We changed Japan and Germany in the past for a more peaceful world, though this may be a more difficult task. As for Germany and Japan we had to defeat their military first.

CAN A SPEECH BE GIVEN ON SUCH AN OCCASION THAT DOES NOT HAVE A POLITICAL TONE Americans have a short attention span and Bush should have been a better communicator these past years. What pisses me off is to find out they had 190 Taliban hot shots gathered at a funeral, could have taken them out and didn't. RULES of engagement yeah right. They obviously care nothing for our innocents and will use any means to take us out. If this is a war and he says he will stay with, then Get With it!! War is hell and that's the way it should be fought or we will all be in deep sh..t.

Great speech - Bush is not backing down, no matter how much cr*p the libs continue to throw at him. Just like Reagan, Bush will be remembered well in the history books. Democrats will continue to be the "party with no plan or solutions".
