The saying is "the sky's the limit." meaning there is no limit to what you can do.

"order what you want! the sky's the limit."
"you can have any job you apply for - the sky's the limit."

If the sky's the limit, then there is no limit but one's own abilities. The sky is infinite (from the soil to the edge of universe, basically), therefore the possibilities are endless.

think about sky, can u imagine the distance, certainly not. sky limit is the word used for in imaginable size and scope.
