What free programs would you recommend for a) writing complicated math equations b) constructing proofs and converting them later to more readable text versions and c) drawing graphs? Where can I download them safely? .... I heard about winedit, latex, but I'm not sure and need professional advice. Thank you

The equation editor in Word is good. But you asked for FREE programs. Open Office is comparable to Word and is free to download at openoffice.org.

Winedit is also not free. But Texnicenter is. Learning to write in Latex is a whole big deal though. Good luck.

There's a program called LaTeX. That's the best thing for writing math equations. As for constructing proofs, I dunno.
