I read most of these answers and each one could support their own opinion. So what is your own opinion? What have you tried? Why did or didn't you like it? Each person is unique and different so what they think is the "best" is also unique and different.

My personal opinion is Mary Kay, I have been using Mary Kay off and on since high school until 8 1/2 years ago when I chose to become a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant. I love the product but to me the most important thing is the personalized service you get from a consultant. You don't have to go to the store to "hunt" for what you want, she comes to you! She also knows what you purchased before and when you might be running low so no surprises there. And trying is free and buying is backed by 100% satisfaction guarantee! Want to try a new look? Call your personal consultant! But hey this is just my personal opinion but read below (and they have had this distinction for 13 years)

In the U.S. in 2005, Mary Kay was the best-selling brand in the combined categories of facial skin care and color cosmetics, as well as the best-selling brand in the individual categories of facial skin care; lip color, which includes lipstick, lip gloss and lip liner; and eye makeup remover. Based on the most recent industry sales data according to the Kline & Company, Inc.'s "Cosmetics & Toiletries USA 2005" study.

Revlon and L'Oreal Paris make great quality cosmetics. I love Revlon's Fabulash Waterproof Mascara! It doesn't smudge or leave you with black little marks under your eyes. I'm striving to buy the L'Oreal Paris concealer which has a brush. I don't like pencil-like concealers!

I own quite a lot of Maybelline cosmetics, as it is affordable, and very girly and colourful. I love their new Pure Make-Up foundations, as it suits my combination/acne-prone/sensitised skin type. Their Dream Mousse range of bronzers, blush and eyeshadow give you an instand glow, is silky, and feels so nice! But, Maybelline's Great Lash, I find, isn't that great. It gives me smudges around my eyes.

Rimmel also has some pretty nice stuff.

I've been wearing Bare Minerals by Bare Escentuals for 3 1/2 years and I love it. It matches my skin tone, doesn't clog my pores, has a natural SPF 15 and I can cover the issues that I have with my skin and it doesn't look like a mask.

There's no such thing as best brand makeup because whatever that suits me and i recommend to u, doesnt mean that it will suits ur skin too. Different people has different needs and preference. The only way is to experiment. Thats what most people or at least, I always do. Although it is the more expensive and troublesome way, thats the only way out!

The best brand of makeup depends on what kind of skin you have. gloMinerals is a clinical skin care makeup line that was recommended to me by my aesthetician. It's a great brand to use if other products make you breakout.

None Naturally.

Foundations clog your pores and cause acne.

If you have sensitive skin like I developed over the years (I'm 47), you can eventually develop allergies to eye shadow and mascara. I used to wear it when I worked. Then it started to cause my eye lids to break out in a red rash, then flake. They would burn and itch. Awful.

If I use it for just one day, now, for a photo or something special, I'm sorry for it. I'll be miserable and ugly for days.

Tried all the hypo-allergenic stuff and still experienced the same thing. Gave up.

The only thing I can wear now is lip color (and I rarely use it now), I like the mood lip colors by Wet and Wild that stain the lips. They last longer and don't smudge or transfer as easy as regular lipstick. They also look more natural if applied lightly. They don't look thick and phony like regular lipstick either. I have had a hard time finding them lately though.

I just cleanse and moisturize now, and I do pluck my brows a bit.

My sister had that beautiful porcelain skin that was baby perfect. The kind you'd die for.You couldn't even see her pores. She covered it up and ruined it with make up. Big pores, acne. I was heartbroken, I would have loved to have her complexion.

Natural as nature intended really is best for most, I think. Even with small scars. I actually have a scar the size of a quarter right beside my eye (I was attacked by a dog when I was a girl) and no one has ever noticed it or the smaller ones from the dog. I have a couple small ones from having moles removed too.

I got more compliments on how nice and fresh I looked without makeup, than I got when I used it. Even with what I think is age spots and uneven skin tones (I never had a complexion anywhere close to what my sister had).

It's interesting, when we're together everyone thinks I'm the younger sister and I'm 11 years older. (She smokes now too, so she's damaged her skin more. It's sad to see the look on her face when they say that.)

Go natural as often as you can, try not to spend long periods out in the sun (sunblock can cause acne, and for me at least burning and itching, wear it only if you have too). A light moisturizer. I use aloe mostly. Nutragina vitamin acne moisturizer if I have acne. Don't smoke!

I think being natural shows a lot about a persons self confidence and you will save a lot of cash as well.

Enjoy yourself natural and everyone else will too.

I think it depends on what you are going for and what type of skin you have. Bare Minerals is great! However I have very dry skin and it looks flaky on me. I can't use that kind of stuff. Clinique works great for me when I'm going for a natural fun look. When I want to play and go more dramatic I tend to use more Bemefit or Mac. Their colors tend to be bolder and they focus more on fun and younger colors I think.
