I gained 22lbs while preg but was already overweight. So far I'm doing great and have lost that plus 10lbs but would like to lose the extra I was already packing from my first child. Going back to work and will work 8 hr days plus driving a total of 1hr20min. Gyms are not an option because of where I live. Trying to fit all this in and still have time toplay with my babies(NB and 2yrs). Any dieting/fitness tips while I'm breastfeeding.

KEEP BREASTING FEEDING, you burn over 600 calories per feeding you body uses so much energy to create the milk its the equivilent of working out. Keep up the good work, eat alot of dairy it slims the waist line take the baby for a stroll a fast stroll to boost your metabolism even more go to the park chase the 2 year old around while strolling the baby its so much fun your kids will enjoy it and you'll be working it. Dont over due the carbs but dont cut them out if you pack on the protein and eat small amounts of carbs you will keep burning. Good Luck

Exercise more, eat less. If only! I am trying to keep with my baby weight loss just like you to lose my extra weight that has been around for a while...

If you have some place you can jump rope, that is an easy and very good cardio activity! I try to take long walks with the kids, but that is hard.

I feed my two year old very well -- 95% healthy and organic foods. So I try to eat that way too! A few rules I made for myself include no doughnuts until I lose ten pounds and no french fries until I lose 5. I like to have motivation stuff like that.

AS far as breastfeeding, just watch your calorie intake and make sure all your calories are quality. for me, I ate plenty of organic yogurt (less sugar) bc it was filling and good my calcium levels.

Good luck!

Buy some dumbbells and do a home workout in your living room. You can do a quick full body workout in 30 min 3 times aday and will increase your metabolism immensely.
To warm up or for a cardio at home trip buy a jump rope.

Breastfeeding will also help some people but it only burns about 500-600 calories a day not a feeding as someone else answered.

Breastfeeding and playing with your babies is a lot of calories burned. My advice is to make sure you eat nutritious food and walk whenever you can (park farther away, around the block, etc). It took me about a year to get back to "myself" after each kid, and I didn't try too hard (breastfed for about a year each). Another thing I noticed which I have never read/heard about before: I lost another few pounds after I stopped breastfeeding. Maybe my body didn't need the extra fat? Who knows, just enjoy this time with your baby because it goes by too fast.

Make wise choices! And Weight Watchers works for me every time (I lost 8 pounds in 10 days already!).

After I had the baby, I was still eating like a pregnant woman...pound cake and chips and caffeine free soda...calories, calories, calories.

Eat low fat, low sugar, low calorie, just make sure you're getting at least close to 2000 calories a day if you are of average weight!

Weight watchers is great and has tips specifically for nursing mothers. You can do it on-line but the meetings are a good support.
Keep nursing, take your babies for walks, or dance with them. Get an exercise ball, use soup cans for light weight. You can exercise on the floor with the kids. Take healthy snacks to work so you're not tempted to grab a bite on the run.
good luck and enjoy the little ones.:)

Breastfeeding is the best way to lose weight! The Baby will literally suck the weight off of you. don't eat salt or preprocessed foods{lunch meat;TV dinners} Try to think of what the baby needs to grow and then eat the foods that will supply that! Drink lots of water and eat a lot of Dairy[cheese, yogurt]. Try to eat alot of veggies!!! Salad, and green veggies are the best!

you do burn about 500 calories per DAY breastfeeding, but you will eat that, because you are hungry. I put my baby in a sling and carried him everywhere when I was home. that helps to burn a few more calories, also, when you want to eat, drink a glass of water to ensure that you are really hungry, and not just bored, or having cravings, the water usually fills me up. my doctor told me not to diet, because I would deprive my breastfed baby. Whatever u do, take a vitamin, so that baby gets all they need!! Good luck

I'm sure you've heard it before, but remember to make the most out of little tasks... Run (instead of walk) up the stairs in your home and go up and down often; park far away at the grocery store in order to walk the length of the parking lot twice; take your kids on lots of walks; do sit-ups during TV commercials, etc.
It sounds like what you're doing is working, though, so keep it up! Very commendable!
