public relation stunt? This way they can say-see things are so bad. Then, if they win again, gas prices skyrocket as soon as they are in control for another four years.

How can someone affiliate people with a certain group from a simple question? Sounds like some of you are offended by the question. Good, that means your easy prey.

Smartass-are you so gullible to think that any political party(republican or democrat) do not exert enough power to at least influence the price.

No, they are dropping because A) Summer is ending and B) the oil rigs in the gulf are back up and running. By the way gas prices would be alot lower if the democrats and liberals would let republicans drill for oil.

I would tend to believe that gas pricing is tied to politics; but only because that is what I believe, not because I know it to be a fact. Cheney and Bush both have close ties to gas. To say the price is driven by other nations may be so but remember - if we allow those nations to up their price for fuel we can also up our price. Remember when Bush added the tax onto lumber coming into America from Canada? Don’t you think that improved his stocks in American lumber? I think you are right; when we get close to making election decisions things that are important seem to suddenly get better. Politicians seem to think we are ignorant and easily manipulated – and obviously we are – WE TOO OFTEN PUT THE WRONG PERSON IN OFFICE!

No.

Gas prices are more a product of demand than of any political considerations. The gas companies raised prices because they could. We weren't going to stop driving.

I think they were scoundrels for doing it when they were making record profits, but that's my opinion. Nothing else.

Second, read up on your civics. Congress is elected for two years in the House and 6 years in the Senate. Nobody is in control for "another four years."

I've wondered this too!!! Seems kinda strange doesn't it? How much is gas where your at right now? I'm in Crawford County, Ohio and it was $2.11 a gallon for 87 today when I stopped for gas, I couldn't believe it, but they could still stand to come back down to around at least $1.50 a gallon! I think this gas thing is all one big scheme anyway.

the Gas prices are based on the prices of oil/barrel,not republican politicians. Why anyone can be so stupid to think republicans are responsible for the prices of gas is a mystery to me.
