what is the drifferent between therapeutic and prophylatic?

prophylactic is preventative and therapeutic is successful treatment for a condition.... ex. you use condoms as a prophylactic to pregnancy and you receive therapeutic treatment for migraines by taking midrin when you get them.

Therapeutic= treatment.
Prophylactic= preventive

'Therapeutic' is treatment for a condition that already exists. 'Prophylactic' is intervention (treatment) aimed at preventing a condition.
