It is possible with a special USB cord that runs about 30$. Ask your local electronics store.

You need either a special cable that's twisted so that the send wires on one end go to the receive wires on the other or you need to go through a USB hub.

Although USB may be faster but its harder to get two PC's going.

The simpler way is to get a cross-over network cable and hook up both machines with an IP on each and map one drive to another.

the fastest way is to have an Ethernet hub and connect them together that way, the Ethernet has way more bandwidth then any of the other ways mentioned

yes that is one way. the fastest way, i think, is to hook them up to a network and transfer data that way.
