Don't forget Dr. Who and Monty Python's Flying Circus. How about Benny Hill or Degrassi Series? Mr. Rogers also started in Canada. I just remembered today that All in the Family was based on the British series Till Death Do Us Part, Sanford and Son was based on Steptoe(I think) and Son, and Three's Company was also based on a British series.

The BBC actually HAVE made a couple of great TV series. Doctor Who is one of the most successful Sci-Fi shows of all time. And the show "Hustle" is really very entertaining.
However, I will grant you, these are definately exceptions to the rule.

If you're looking for good British movies, try some Hitchcock films made before Rebecca(which are American produced from that point on). That is the best start I can give you.

Have you seen how many movies the USA throws out each year? We have to have some good movies, it's inevitable, and from so many sources, from the big studios, to sundance and other studios as well. Also just depends on the eye of the beholder.

It's not. England,Canada, and Austrailia have all produced some excellent films and TV shows, however they don't tend to be distributed as widely as American films and programs so fewer people have the chance to see and appreciate them.

uummm, and who told you that? Just because something is plastered all over the T.V. in commercials and has an overblown budget, does not mean it is any better (or worse) than something with a smaller budget that it shown to a smaller audience.

umm...New Zealand,Lord of the Rings,whale rider.
I get so sick of american films, everyone is so perfect and beautiful.
There are some great films out there that are NOT produced by big hollywood studios, these films i can particulary hate, i prefer the small independent films.
