Like one of the people that have answered this question already, their starting pitching isn't as good as it was last year, or should I say consistant enough. Too many things can go wrong and they still have to win the wildcard or central. The Tigers and Twins will make it tough. I hate to say it but I think a team with crappy pitching and good hitting will win the World Series this year. I am not a Yankees fan but that's just what I think. We may see the subway series.

I'm not a Sox fan, but I'm not a hater either. Out of the 3 teams competing for the Central division, the White Sox has the worst chance of getting in. They have the toughest of the 3 schedules for the remainder of the season. They still have to play Oakland, Detroit, and Minnesota.

An objective opinion, because I don't like or dislike the Sox, but I do follow them
Pitching wins championships. As a White Sox fan, you should know that from last year. And as a White Sox fan, you should also know their pitching is much, much worse this year. In fact, their offensive numbers are better this year than last, and they still, as of today, aren't in the playoffs.
People seem to forget around playoff time that the teams with the best pitching wins the most series in the playoffs. Just look at Houston, who frankly had one of the worst lineups in the majors last year, and still went to the world series. ChiSox shut them down with superior pitching last year.

I'm a Sox fan and I'll stay a Sox fan. Their closers have to tighten up if they want to get in there again. Have you noticed that suddenly everyone is a Tiger fan?

They may make the playoffs but I doubt they'll repeat.
