I just want to see what the GREAT DIVIDE IS, and more answers would just cloud the issues.

1. Democrat's are bleeding heart liberals! (Trying to stop the death penalty and supporting pro-choice)
2. They raise taxes to help themselves and the wealthy while trying to starve out the poor!
3. It was DEMOCRATS that insisted that prayer be taken out of schools!

The problem with Democrats:
1- Like John Kerry and the Iraq war - the are pro-choice but against the death penalty. I think it is because they don't want to take the risk that the kid might have a brain and figure out that the uber-liberal democrats are full of it - so kill the babies, but save those people from death row - they can tell their voting friends to vote democrat in the next election for saving their butts.
2- The legislate everything to protect us from ourselves, yet they want Darwinism (survival of the fittest) to be the only thing taught in school.
3- The leadership of the party is comprised of people that have managed to lie and get out of trouble for just about everything. Ted Kennedy - drunk driving/vehicular manslaughter had Mary Jo happened to anyone else (and still an alcoholic). Bill Clinton - Rape and sexual harrasment and the failure to take out Osama before 9-11, perjury and a list of others. Mrs. Clinton - most of the same things as Bill. Together, they and the rest of the party have done the greatest diservice to this country by creating a welfare state that pads their wallets and expands the welfare state.

I guess the thing that personally annoys me about today's conservatives, and I'll just list one, is that many of them seem to get their news from one source, the source that agrees with them... that's not a very healthy way of getting news, if it agrees with you all the time, it's probably not the whole story... that's what makes good news, good news...
I watch Fox, CNN, MSNBC, Headline news and read quite a few AP stories and look around on Yahoo! news... .see several different points of view on the stories... the truth is usually somewhere in between...
granted, this is not all of them, but quite a few do this... and you can tell that they don't see parts of stories and they think that any other point of view is just lies...
that's very dangerous attitude making only one source your news source and thinking everything else is lies... it's ok to have a distrust for the news, but the blatantly ignore everything else is, well, like I said, dangerous...

i'm not a deomcrat or republican, but i would list the following:
republicans: controlled by the religious right, too trusting of big business, and too hypocritical about the size of government: they always talk about smaller government then push government into personal area. what happened to "the government that governs best governs least"?
democrats: too distrusting of local government, too eager for government solutions to problems, and they try to be "republican-lite." by that i mean they are unwilling to be a leftist party in opposition to a party thats to the right. for good balance in government there needs to be both a left and a right party, not a right and a center party.
and both sides use too much spin (propaganda).
