when turned on by wall switch,ceiling fan will run on high speed for a couple minutes then run very slow what is wrong???do I need to buy a new ceiling fan,this one is seven years old

sounds like one of the blades is off balance. take a pencil and barely touch it to the fan whle on high speed...the heavy blade will have the mark on it. you may just have to bend it up a little.

The switch either works or it doesn't. In your case it does. Look for the problem in the ceiling fan.

are you sure it's not a dimmer switch? it has to be a problem with the switch IMHO. Turn it off and feel the switch and the fan housing. If either one is HOT, there is the problem.

Sounds like you may have an electrical short...turn it off until you can have a qualified electrician check your switch

yes i think u should buy a new one maybe the motor is worn out or something
