Something about this was in a book that I read. What is your opinion on it?

yea, i do. i think that our minds can travel, possibly mingle. you ever answer the phone and say "i was just about to call you!!!" i think in some cases that is exactly what has happened. so who can argue that it can happen in your sleep as well? and if someone has a strong enough will, they can do it purposely.

it is possible but very very hard to do. occasionally a novice dreamer can pull it off usually by accident. doing it on purpose is much more problematic. it can only work if the people know each other and the better they know each other the better it works. lovers are the easiest. physical proximity is another factor, the closer you are to that person the better. you can only do it while dreaming, which makes it even more difficult. you also cant controll someone elses dreams, only influence. the amount of influence can vary depending on the mental strength of the victim, the overall mood or current circumstance of the victim, the level of cognition the influencer has in his or her dream, etc.
i say victim but i dont mean to imply that influencing someone elses dreams is neccessarily bad, but usually peoples motives are, thats why its a secret that is only shared by a few.

No, however if 2 or more people are in similar states of conciousness it would be logical to assume the energies could synchronize and influence the relaxed or stressed state of the individuals involoved.

I do not think one can influence directly the details of a dream-state, but it is logical that one could influence the state of mind of the individual dreaming by environment and meditation.

No. No such mechanism to do that exists. It's just magical thinking, like believing in superstitions or faith healing. Believing something to be true or real does not make it so.

There are ways of influencing the type of dreams you have, but having other people meditate on your mind is not one of them.

Thinking about thinking is a very worthy artform.
Your dreams are your soul travelling through the worlds of God.
If your power of concentration grows it seems reasonable that your could direct your dreams just like you can focus your thinking.
The mind is the vehicle of the soul. Where your mind goes your spirit will follow. Mine is leading me to bed now! Good night!
Sweet dreams to you!

we control our own dreams. take it from someone who has has a lifetime of nightmares. i finally learned that i can control that: instead of dying, falling..whatever....i can either wake up, fight or do whatever it takes. its only a dream.
