What industry and what was your salary?

I have always been in the IT industry. I graduated 2001 from college and earned twice as much as the minimum pay. Just do the math.
The industry you're/you'd be in cannot really speak for the salary you're/you'd be earning. I'm pretty sure those in the sales, marketing and/or call centers can earn more than I could in my first job and/or even those just too industrious and resourceful who didn't even go to college.
First job is always the testing center so don't really expect for a GREAT salary. That's where you gain experience for you to become marketable to the industry you have selected thus you shouldn't really be after the salary itself. Once you think you have enough skills and is competitive enough, hopefully in 2-3 years time, you can transfer to another company and land on a better paying job.

I graduated in 2001 and am in the social work field. I made $29,500 when i got my first job. I got a raise shortly after that, but there's not a lot of money in my field.
