I would be okay with that if I had a baby monitor and were able to hear the child. Or if you can hear your baby stir from across the house...at night...while you are sleeping. Get a monitor. It is the safest thing to do if you don't want your baby sleeping in the same room as you.

And your room is where? You should be nearby. Babies this young need attention during the night. Many still wake for feedings and diaper changes. There is nothing wrong with the baby sleeping in its own room. You just need to be close enough to listen and respond to your baby's needs. You might consider a baby monitor or better yet, moving the crib into your bedroom until the child is much older before it sleeps in a separate wing of the house.

yes it would be as long as you can hear the baby cry from where you would be at the time maybe one of those baby monitors would be a great idea. after all you are still in the same house the baby would not be left alone in the house. It may just seem like it.

yes of course but get a baby monitor. How is it for you going up and down stairs, especially in the night time to feed her. Is there not a bedroom closer to yours to save your legs just till she sleeps through the night

If you're asking, then you must have doubts and you'll feel better if the baby was closer. They're only little for a short short time. Be safe. Make it so you can hear the baby all the time. And trust your gut.
I couldn't be that far away until they were older.
Always trust your gut. Better safe than sorry.

Yes. They have video baby monitors (About $150), or you can get a regular one (I don't think the video ones are very portable) that you can clip the receiver to waist of your pants while you are working around the house.
