If you are 28 weeks it is likely Braxton Hicks, if you are 38 weeks it is probably labour. If your contractions get more intense or closer together call your doctor's office and go from there.

you could go at any time but you may have as much as a month left.its the home stretch and its not easy.what you are feeling are brackston hicks contracions, they are like a warm up.yes it gets worse ,sorry. You will know you are in labor when the contractions come hard and regular ,starting like at maybe 15 min apart but get closer and continue for hours with no break.or you may only feel back pain, and a show of blood ,it depends.we are all different ,some people have a lot of pain and some less.good luck..

The -1 has to do with where the baby's head is in the pelvis. Your baby is at minus one station. When you are having contractionms that are 5 minutes apart call the after hours response at your doctors office, and go to the hospital.

BEING NOT DIALATED IS A GOOD SIGN THAT YOU ARE NOT READY YET BUT YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHEN YOU WILL BE. FIRST LABORS ARE USUALLY THE LONGER WITH THEM GETTING PROGRESSIVELY SHORTER WITH EACH YOU BEAR-USUALLY. MY FIRST WAS MANY HOURS COMPARED TO MY SECOND WHICH WAS 15 MINUTES AND BOOM SHE WAS HERE. I WOULD SAY TO CALL YOUR DR WHEN YOU ARE A REGULAR HALF HOUR APART SO THAT HE IS AWARE AND HE WILL TELL YOU WHEN HE WANTS YOU TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL. AS FOR LABOR, IT IS DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE. IT ALSO DEPENDS ON THE BABY'S POSITION. I KNEW A WOMAN WHO SAID ALL OF HERS FELT LIKE TOLERABLY MILD CRAMPING AND LIKE SHE WAS LATER TAKING A DUMP. MINE WERE LIKE THOSE OF A SEVERE CYCLE YET THEY WERE NOT AS BAD AS HAVING MY CYCLE. YOU CAN NOT REALLY TELL YOURSELF FOR CERTAIN WHEN YOU ARE IN LABOR VS FALSE LABOR BUT YOUR LOCAL NURSE WHEN YOU CHECK IN WILL HAVE A PRETTY GOOD IDEA. LASTLY, IF YOUR WATER BREAKS DO NOT DELAY-GO TO THE HOSPITAL IMMEDIATELY. IT WILL BE TIME TO GO. OFTEN THE DR HAS TO BREAK YOUR WATER FOR YOU BUT THAT IS SIMPLY NOT ALWAYS THE CASE, SO IF IT BREAKS-GO GO GO. BREAKING WILL AT FIRST MAKE YOU THINK YOU WET YOURSELF BUT UPON EXAMINATION THE FLUID TO TOUCH IS STICKY. URINE IS NOT. IF YOU EXPERIENCE STICKY WATER YOU SHOULD GO RIGHT AWAY, DON'T EVEN WORRY ABOUT HOW DIALATED YOU ARE OR ARE NOT, YOU WILL BE SOONER THAN LATER AND DRY BIRTHS DRS LIKE THE MOTHERS TO COME RIGHT IN-DRY BIRTHS ARE A RESULT OF THE WATER BREAKING SOMETIMES BEFORE YOU GET TO THE HOSPITAL. BEST WISHES AND CONGRADULATIONS.
