I was just wondering. it looks really cute, i'd like to see that movie.
I was also wondering, why do all older american actresses seem to have strange quasi-european accents? If they're american, why do they all speak with a british-french-american mix while on stage? it has always confused me.

thanks!

it's from Funny Face, when she's spotted by Fred Astaire , who's a photographer, and she becomes a model.

It's because when actresses were initially signed to contracts, they were trained by the studios' voice coaches to speak in a certain way, so that they would sound classier/lady-like. Besides the concept of excellent acting for a long time was that you were British or at least sounded European.

It's a great movie--but be warned it's a musical and although I think Audrey is a goddess, she can't sing really well in this movie.

I HATE that Gap commercial. It's so annoying!!!!!!!!

Also, I wonder why American actresses sounded European. Most old actors and actresses talked that way back in the day. It must've been a sign of being a good actor.. who knows.

I haven't seen the Gap commercial but Audrey Hepburn was European, that's why she had an accent. So is Elizabeth Taylor, Vivian Leigh, Angela Landsbury...

humorous Face the hollow makes use of images of the previous due actress from the Stanley Donen movie "humorous Face." We see Hepburn in a Parisian café saying, "I fairly sense like expressing myself now. and that i might want to really use the launch." She then starts off dancing wildly and after some seconds jumps out of the movie onto a white hollow-like history and maintains her frenetic dance to the track of the AC/DC Christa took my answer ...

SIN thats disgusting audrey is a goddess oh jesus how could they!!!!!Audrey moved around alot throughout europe and went to a private school a one piont where she learned many different languages fluently which made up her unbelievably beauiful voice. Many other actresses would have had the same type of education and thus the speech patren of old. dear god how i miss it.
