1. multiply both sides by 5

5(3n-2)/5 = 5 * 7/8

3n - 2 = 35/8

2. Add 2 to both sides

2 + 3n - 2 = 2 + 35/8

3n = 2 + 35/8

3. Divide both sides by 3

3n/3 = (2 + 35/8)/3

n = (2+ 35/8)/3
