Exorcist

The first Halloween or the first Alien They were really scary and with no blood and guts. Also you didn't see the killer nor the Alien till the very end. That made them scary!
However, to watch them a second time it is not as scary. If you want to see a scary TV series watch Rod Serlings Night Gallery. When I was a kid watching that it scared the Living S#%T out of me. Some episodes still do!(watch the one about the dolls with the poison teeth)

Saw a movie when I was a teeneger called Screams of (in?) The Winter Night that made me leave the bathroom light on across the hall from my bedroom for weeks.
I couldn't even get through the Exorcist. That absolutely freaked me out.
There was also a movie based on actual events that appeared on A&E, I think, called A Haunting In New Hampshire. THAT was good.

Texas Chain Saw Masacre--- the 70's version. Scariest thing I ever saw. Not to mention, the sickest.

The Ring was very creepy. It scared me so much that I didn't watch TV for more than a month after watching that movie.

Other scary movies include:
Excorcist, The Sleepy Hollow .

Mind Hunters was another movie which even though falls in suspense thriller category scares you a lot.

Some movie about a creepy guy named Richard and a crawlspace under a porch. It may even have been called Crawlspace, but I can't remember. I just remember I was about 13 or 14 and it scared me to death.

Audition by Takashii Miike. Not "ghost" horror. This is like an intelligent version of Hostel with less torture, or a MUCH more psychologically destructive version of Saw (with a more sickening plot shift too).

I can't remember the name now, but the one where the two brothers make a maniac trucker mad with a CB radio. It scared me pretty bad. Also "Duel" with Dennis Weaver-another maniac truck driver movie.
I guess the reason these seem scary to me is because they could happen, but something with vampires and werewolves are just fantasy.
