Good lord, if it weren't safe to have sex while breastfeeding, I'd be dead! *lol* And dd wouldn't have a little brother.
It's perfectly ok to have sex. While you're still breastfeeding, you might notice some need for extra lubrication, as the hormones involved in milk production can cause dryness. But that only effects some women, not all. And making sure you're drinking enough water during the day can help with that as well. Other than that, you might notice some extra sensitivity in your breasts. Some women find that to be a good thing, others ask their partners to lay off on "the girls" for a little while.
It's important to know that while it's less likely that you could get pregnant if you're still breastfeeding, it's not impossible. As I mentioned earlier, we tried for another baby while still nursing dd and we got one! DD was 10.5 months old and still nursing night and day when I got pregnant with her brother. I successfully nursed her throughout my pregnancy and am nursing both of them now -- but since we're done having children, we're not counting on the fact that I'm still nursing as birth control!

maximum probable. once you're breastfeeding, your era is more effective than likely not likely on and and the hormones that consistently are released on your body are suppressed in the time of that element. i trust this is the estrogen it fairly is released into your body once you breastfeed and the testosterone it fairly is suppressed that dampens your sexchronic. as well, bodily, you're receiving a lot actual contact each and every time you breastfeed your toddler that the favor for further contact should not be there. Been there sister. in reality, i'm nonetheless there. I easily were breastfeeding for the perfect seven months and counting..."they say" it is also meant to be natures way of kid spacing. LOL :)

Sex may cause the mother to leak some milk because it might stimulate the "let down" reflex she has. As far as it being detrimental to either her or the baby to have sex....nope not at all. Other than maybe needing to wear a nursing bra with a breast pad to prevent a wet bed, it's nothing to worry about at all.

If you aren't too tired out and your doctor has given you the go ahead after child birth (usually 6 weeks after) I don't see a reason to not. Sex is not going to affect your baby in anyway. If you are worried about getting pregnant, it is very unlikely when you are breast feeding because you generally are not ovulating.

Well what are you gonna do remain celibate for 1 to 1 1/2 years? Cause that's about how long you breastfeed.

so long as you've been cleared at your 6 weeks post-partum ob appt to resume having sex, then it is totally safe, and will have no effect on breastfeeding.

You can have sex, but just know that you will probably leak when doing so.
