I was rather on the neutral side re the Israeli-Lebanon war.I like to know as much as possible about BOTH sides in conflicts such as this one. But I'm really kind of apprehensive about Israel. Its coming out now that she used phosphorus shells and cluster bombs in Lebanon. And that she used 90% of them when she learned the US ceasefire Resolution.was about to be adopted by the Security Council.
IDF soldiers say they fired some l,800 cluster rockets on Lebanon and they contained l.2 million cluster bombs.
Those bombs struck 350 locations in S. Lebanon. The whole region has been contaminated with more than 100,000 unexploded bomblets, scattered by these cluster bombs.Curiously enough, the US has been supplying Israel cluster bombs since the seventies.
????
What in the world else is going to come out about this war..
Israel is our FRIEND.
What happens if she becomes our enemy.

Israel cares only about Israel. It is like the spoiled only-child of the richest and most powerful family in town whose parents let it do whatever it wants, shower the brat with money, refuse to discipline it, and goes after anyone who even questions the brat’s behavior.
Israel can defeat the combined militaries of every country in the region, simultaneously, and they all know it. Israel’s military jets fly through neighboring airspace all the time. Israel has nuclear weapons and F16’s; Jordan has about 50 F-5’s and a Navy of maybe 5 little boats that they use mostly for sporting purposes, because anything that looked organized would bring down a big can of whup-*** from Israel.
And yet, Israel whines that it is helpless and vulnerable, even while Big-Daddy stands behind it.
Yes, there are plenty of Arabs and others that want Israel annihilated, but Israel is intent on killing every Palestinian alive (interesting since they are ethnically the same people).
The blame is at least 50-50. Israel is nobody’s victim. Palestinians are suicide bombers because that is their only weapon. They feel (rightly or wrongly) like a person who is being choked to death, and like anyone, if someone chokes you long enough, you will eventually try to kill them.
Israel is a bully and we always allow it to be, then we wonder why people don’t like us. Only the radicals resent our lifestyle, everyone else resents our behavior.
If you wield power unwisely, it only makes people hate you.
Now, thanks to Bush’s bungling in Afghanistan and Iraq, no one even respects our power. Rumsfeld’s shock-n-awe didn’t impress, scare, shock, or awe anyone. It was a big flop.
So far, Bush has attacked two of the absolute weakest countries on the face of the earth – and can’t control either of them. The longer we stay – the weaker we appear. Not only weak, but too stupid to leave. Why do conservatives love a guy who has stripped this nation of all respect and honor?
You can argue that we are still strong enough to beat-up anybody, and that is true. However, we are not strong enough to beat-up everybody. If all the little kids in the schoolyard stand together, they will open a can of whup-*** on the bully – and no one will care, and no one will help.

""War is never fair, the strong will always try to vanquish the weak by any method available..
Israel doesn't care that it ignored the rules governing the use of cluster bombs because it doesn't have to clean up the mess afterwords.. After all their use was in the name of the war on terror".. we all know that once that expression has been cited!. then anything goes!..

Can't those dumb terrorist organizations like Hezbollah and Hamas fight a fair war? How many people have they killed by using suicide bombers? That is cowardly. It is scary to think about the nuclear ambitions of Iran and if Hezbollah gets a bomb. If the Muslim countries keep supporting these terrorists they deserve to get their asses kicked. If Lebanon wants peace, they should get rid of Hezbollah.

The sad thing is that you feel like the war with hezbollah, hamas and the PLO is Israels fault and that Israel started the bombings and all the killings.

there is no such thing as a fair war. there is an honorable war, where neither side targets the other side's women and children. unfortunately, over there it is a battle of survival, so fair doesnt exist. every man, woman, and child is part of the war over there. everyone is a target. woah, its the kaiser. i love your buns, man. er, i mean rolls. i like kaiser rolls.

... Guess again.. Israel is only our friend as long as we agree with everything she wants to do, including out and out murder. Also as long as we keep supplying her with weapons. The minute we ever disagree with one of her moves, she will turn on us. Israel is just another middle east country and we would do well to remember that!

The only fair fight is the one you win. You children need to learn a lesson. If you knock them down, kick em'. Let them up to whip your butt. Nope if you get em down get em out.
