I'm not for it or anything, I'm just wandering why a lot of countries chose to follow by it. It must have something that they (ruleres, kings, emperors, etc) need/want to make a stable, sustainable, and virteous nation.

Any excuse for "control" will do. Anything that forces you behave in certain manner, weather thru force,or dogma, is only about control, which is about maintaining power

Stability is the big reason, I'd think. In countries where the vast majority of the population is of one religion, having the government support that one religion can keep society stable.

I think they just denounce each other to gain the support of more followers. Eventually things got personal cos everybody wants to think they are the best.

The only reason rulers care about religion is to use it to control the people or because it threatens their power.
