I think Mr. Mandela is a great man. He went to hell and back for his beliefs. Because of him and others, South Africa is on the road to recovery. I admire his courage and conviction. In my book Mr. Mandela is a hero and an example to all.

I probably don't think about him all that often. but I absolutely respect his belief in a cause and his willingness to suffer to further that cause.
I also believe it was his moral leadership that has allowed South Africa to avoid the problems that Zimbabwe (Rhodesia) has suffered.
'payback' is never good policy and as Zimbabwe has proven, it just causes EVERYONE to suffer not just those who you intend to suffer.
True, Mandela is just a man with all a man's faults. But just because you have feet of clay doesn't mean you can't move those feet towards the path of righeousness, sanity, and forgiveness. He is a lot closer to being a Great man than I am.

He's an awesome human being that deserves everyones respect and admiration. Having being imprisoned for eighteen years and still fighting for civil rights is amazing. I truly admire the man.
