Twenty years older than I am right now. That's been my definition of "old" for the last thirty years...

With todays standards in medical assistance and the information available on how to live a healthier life "old" is not until some time in your 70's. While there are exceptions to every situation people on average are living longer and enjoying good health well into their 80's and even 90's. At the turn of the century into the 1900's 45 to 50 was considered an average age. We've come a long way on this one.

You've asked a question to which no one can provide a true or reliable answer, because you put quote marks around "old", highlighting that even you, asking the question, weren't quite sure how to ask the question. The term "old" can mean anything to anybody, depending on whether the person answering is 12 or 92.
When I was 9, a teenager was old and someone in university was older... a parent, no matter how old, was beyond old... only heaven knew how much longer they would walk this earth!
As I aged, my idea about old seemed to change practically from day to day.

Good question. I considered myself a "little old," at 30, mainly because I couldn't party like I had used to, and recovering from hangovers was much worse.

Now I'm over 40 and definitely am starting to feel "old." Don't have nearly the energy I used to, and am getting a bit overweight. Of course, being married and having a 4-year-old boy might have something to do with it as well!

In my opinion, age does not equal old.Due to modern medicine, and a better educated society on eating healthier foods, and exercising,we are living and functioning much longer.Things are getting kind of weird today, because females are becoming mothers at an earlier age, and so called "senior citizens" are living longer. When I was young, old was considered 40 or 50+.

Now that I'm 45, I think of perhaps 70 as old.
When I was a child, I thought 29 sounded really old.
