I have to detremine the graph of linear equation.
-2x+3y= -6
by finding the x and y intercepts. type the equation using function notation.
I have the answers x (3,0) y (0,-2) but I can't figure out how to get the function notation. please help. use intergers or fraction for any numbers in the expression.

helpppppppppppp.. I need a graphing calculator but can't afford one yet. one day will will get one.

All it is is to put the equation into the form y = f(x)
-2x + 3y = -6 (add -2x to both sides)
3y = 2x - 6 (divide both sides by 3)
y = (2/3)*x -2 so
y = f(x) where f(x) = (2/3)*x -2

You don' need no steenking graphics calculator. The very finest calculator in the known Universe is setting between your ears. Learn to use it ☺

-2x + 3y = -6
3y = 2x - 6
y = (2/3)x - 2

becomes

f(x) = (2/3)x - 2

f(0) = (2/3)x - 2
(2/3)x = 2
2x = 6
x = 3

x-intercept is 3
y-intercept is -2

Function Notation

f(3) = 0
f(0) = -2

for an online graphing calculator, try

www.quickmath.com (doesn't have to be in y = form like graphing calculators)

http://www.calculator.com/calcs/GCalc.html (has to be in y = form, put when you type it in, leave out the y = part)
