Canada already has some of the most stringent gun control in the free world.
Do you think if a law abiding citizen was armed, he or she could of stopped this scum bag before he hurt all the people that he did?
Gun control just restricts the law abiding, the criminal doesn't care about another law.

No. Canada has gun control and it does not work. What is needed is education about guns. Children in schools or in their own homes should be educated on the use and resulting misuse of guns.
Don't license the gun, license the gun owner. Use and handling of firearms should be taught and after an individual has passed a prescribed course ( practical included ) a license should be issued and the license holder can then buy and keep any type of gun he or she is qualified to own. Yes I mean handguns to. Maybe if licensed gun owners had permits to carry, gangs and the type of individuals who do things like this would think twice about pulling a gun.

Gun control wouldn't have made any difference — the shootings happened in a school.
If I was there, I woulda just snuck up behind the guy and knocked him out with anything that was handy. Or cut his throat out, as I'm often carrying a good sharp utility knife.

Gun control in general is a good concept. Canada has a relatively low crime. However there is no law or regulation that can stop an insane mind.

Clear proof that "gun free" zones protect nobody. The only effective gun free zone is if everyody has to go though a metal detector and there are armed guards.
