My 9 yr old daughter was diagnosed with ovarian cysts. The radiologist says there were a few cysts on her right ovary. Should I be worried? The family Dr. hasnt called yet with the results but the radiologist works with my husband and let him read the report.

Well.. if it were my daughter I would put her on birth control pills.
I know this sounds crazy, but she needs to see a pediatric OBGYN as well.
Why?
You need to surpress the cysts...
Why?
Because you want her to keep her fertility, and if one of the cysts gets big enough it can wipe out her entire ovary.
Also, if the cysts are only on one ovary, then perhaps you can protect her left one.
( i know i had pediatric PCOS, and lost my right ovary, now i get my medical doctorate in may )
The problem is if for some reason the cysts get big enough, they can blow out the entire ovary and cause massive bleeding.
They also can cause pelvic pain and discomfort.
All around, it is better to put her on a hormone medication, you don't have to tell her it is birth control, because for her, it isn't... it is actually hormone controlling medication for her cysts.

I was diagnosed with 1.8" ovarian cysts and was taking birth control pills per my doctor's suggestions. Weeks and months went by but my ovarian cyst was still there (although it was still the same size). Then I found your amazing book.

During the first week of following this program, I started feeling a lot better and the pain started fading away. It was magical. Nine weeks later, my doctor says that my cyst is gone! I cannot describe how wonderful I feel gazing at the ultrasound results.

I just wish every woman knew about this method. There are so many hopeless women out there that are not even aware there is a natural solution to this problem.

I will warmly recommend this amazing program to all my friends.

Ovarian cysts are usually not dangerous, but depending on the severity, as she gets older, she may not ovulate regularly. Ovarian cysts are the result of the sac surrounding the ovum not fully breaking when the egg is released, resulting in fluid in the sac until the egg is re-absorbed by the body. My oldest daughter had ovarian cysts, and hence did not ovulate regularly and had irregular periods for the first four years. Our gynecologist said that it might resolve itself, and if not, she might require treatment. It resolved itself, and she now has two beautiful daughters. She's still young, but you might want to follow up with a gynecologist and get an opinion. It won't be necessary to do a pelvic (internal) exam, she's only 9.

Usually they are not dangerous. If they explode then she might feel some pelvic pain. I did when mine ruptured. In women during menapause they might be cancer. I would have her checked out by an obgyn and they will be able to tell you if they are cancer or not. From what I know though most of them are not cancer. Go online and type in ovarian cysts and there is alot of web sites that you can goto for it. Thats what I do. Good luck and I hope that everything works out for her and you.

They cause pain and swelling. Can cause a woman to be unable to have children. It also causes painful sex for the woman. They can burst from the swelling and cause a discharge, sometimes with a slight odor and/or discoloration. Depending on the position the abdomen can appear to be swollen and be painful to the touch, which may give an indication that the stomach may be hurting, when it actually is the cyst. They could lead to cancer if not treated in time. Some seem to disappear on their own. Often they do reappear.
