I know theres a colon cleaning type and a sexual type?! My mom told me they were popular in the 50s/60s...but i have no idea what and how there used for, and what they look like

Its when you shoot stuff up your butt to make yourself go to the bathroom. Usually somebody else has to do it because it would be hard to reach. Warm water and slick oily substances or most commonly used.

The difference between a colon cleaning type and a sexual/erotic type is who administers it and how it is administered.
If you are into sexual role play then in a nurse/patient senario the nurse could be giving the patient an enema along with some other "necessary" tests while the patient is receiving the enema.
Or if you are into BD/SM then the enema could be given to a submissive by the dominant person or it could be given and the person be made to hold it for an extended period of time as a punishment for some supposed infraction.
There are any number of ways to use an enema in sexual role play.
In the medical field they can be used to relieve constipation, to administer medication, to help relieve flatulance, and many other purposes.

An enema is used in normal situations to unconstipate people. A fleets is a clear, plastic bottle with a solution that you put in your rectum and squeeze the contents into your bowels. This should not be done on a regular basis because your bowels think they don't have to work and you will become more dependent on enemas to make you go.

there are many different kinds of enemas,barrian enema,fleets enema,and drinks and pills,in the old days they (if I can remember)were the color brownish-red oval shaped with a black stem like probe attatched to it with holes in the tip of it,when you squeeze the bulb in soapy water,it fills up and you put it carefully partly in your rectum,continuing until you have a real good bowel movement.They really looked like a douch with a rubber bulb on it.

It kinda like a douche except it is used to clean out your anal hole. You squirt it up your butt and let it sit or about ten seconds and WHOA!!! Your colon is clean. Make sure you close by a toilet cause all is coming out.
